Fisheries Are Important

Fisheries are significant because these are the places where we get our food. The availability of food, utilization, and access are the three most important aspects of food security. These three factors have to stay aligned if you want to have a healthy population. The US health policy talks about access as well as the utilization of kinds of seafood in several different ways. But the health policies are different from the fisheries policies. It is essential to align the health policies and fisheries to improve the security of the food.

Fisheries Policy And The Health Policies Are Completely Different

Both these policies, are additive and also synergistic or antagonistic to the seafood. There are several examples of collaboration between the fisheries communities and the health at various levels. There are also other topics for research, and there are also both research as well as opportunities to align the health policies and even the fisheries.

It is essential to manage these places to promote efficient food production as well as optimal nutrition. This takes a different approach to fisheries management. New outcomes also have to be monitored, and new methods have to be found. Fisheries, aquaculture, and even health policies have to be appropriately integrated. The health policies do not consider the source of the fish and the connections with the US fisheries system. There is also a global distribution of seafood. If there are promising opportunities, then changes can begin there itself. There is also continued development of health policies and fisheries.

Background Of Fish Harvesting

Fish and aquatic plants are an essential part of the species of plants. They are also a necessary part of the human economies, health, and even culture. The fishes or the marine species are also called seafood. The seafood is responsible for the livelihood of about 10 – 12 % of the population. Moreover, fish is also a healthy diet that provides as much as 3 billion people with about 20% dietary protein. It also includes micronutrients like potassium, B vitamins, and selenium. The health, as well as the fisheries experts, are raising the question as to whether national dietary recommendations are at all possible or not. They are also trying to find out if they are sustainable and equitable.

Fishes are indeed essential for your health. But something more important is if industrial fishing is a good option. The human population is ever-increasing, and the number of fishes that are there in the sea is not enough. So people have to resort to industrial fishing, which is certainly not a good option. They are harming the environment. It is, therefore, imperative to harvest fish directly and have a proper balance.
